Notion

Wisteria connects to Notion via a Notion internal integration. This is a self-serve setup — no OAuth app registration or IT admin required. You create a private integration in Notion, grant it access to the pages you want Wisteria to see, and paste the token.

What Wisteria reads

The scanner looks for pages the integration has been granted access to. For each page:

1. Fetches the full page content (recursively, up to 3 levels of nested blocks).
2. Evaluates the text against your AI Training Profile to decide if it’s training-relevant.
3. If yes, creates a “Wisteria noticed” suggestion visible at Courses → Recommended.

What Wisteria reads: pages. What Wisteria does not read: databases, comments, integrations, external links.

Wisteria only sees pages you explicitly share with the integration — it cannot browse your entire workspace.

Connect

Step 1 — Create a Notion internal integration

1. Go to https://www.notion.so/my-integrations .
2. Click New integration.
3. Name it (e.g. “Wisteria scanner”) and select your workspace.
4. Under Content Capabilities, enable Read content. Write content and Comment are not needed.
5. Click Submit and copy the Internal Integration Secret (starts with secret_…).

Step 2 — Share pages with the integration

In Notion, open each page (or parent page) you want Wisteria to scan:

1. Click Share in the top right.
2. Under Invite, search for your integration by name.
3. Select it. The integration can now read this page and all sub-pages.

Share top-level pages (like your company handbook root or department wiki) to cover entire sections without manually sharing every child.

Step 3 — Connect in Wisteria

1. In Wisteria, go to Settings → Integrations (or the Tools hub).
2. Click the Notion card.
3. Paste your integration secret into the Integration token field.
4. Click Connect. Wisteria verifies the token — if the card flips to Connected, you’re done.

Run a scan

After connecting, trigger the first scan manually:

• Click the Notion card → Run scan.
• The scanner walks all pages shared with the integration (up to 50 pages, edited within the last 90 days in the automated scan; 25 pages / 30 days for a manual trigger).
• Results appear at Courses → Recommended within a few minutes.

Wisteria also runs a nightly automated scan at midnight UTC covering all connected providers.

Disconnect

Click the Notion card → Disconnect. Wisteria deletes the stored integration token. The scanner stops querying Notion. Existing suggestions already surfaced are kept (they’re already stored as pending recommendations) but no new ones are generated.

To also remove Wisteria’s access in Notion: go to notion.so/my-integrations → your integration → Capabilities → remove the integration from any shared pages, or delete the integration entirely.

Notes

• The nightly scan evaluates pages edited within the last 90 days, up to 50 pages per run. Older or unshared pages are not re-evaluated.
• Wisteria does not write to Notion — it is strictly read-only.
• If the integration token is rotated in Notion, update it in Wisteria via the card’s Reconnect option (same form, paste the new token).
• Every connect, scan, and disconnect is recorded in the audit log under the integration.notion.* prefix.
